Development Opportunities

Manufacturing & Distribution staff celebrating newly gained qualifications through Tru-Test Group

At Tru-Test Group, people development is a vital part of our philosophy. We want to continually improve the performance and fulfilment of individuals and teams.

We provide individual development through one-on-one coaching which consists of:

  • Ensuring consistent performance expectations are discussed and agreed.
  • Developing achievable objectives and plans for the 12 months ahead.
  • Aligning individual work objectives with company goals.
  • Reviewing personal training and development opportunities.
  • Ensuring all staff are participating in two-way continuous feedback and coaching.

We strongly believe that enhancing individual knowledge and skills is fundamental to retaining high performing staff and increasing employee engagement.

Leadership development

We offer opportunities for team members to develop their skill set through our leadership development programmes.  In collaboration with training and development consultants, we offer in-house programmes focused on up-skilling and developing team members in coaching, leadership and management and building relationship versatility.

Manufacturing Cadetship programme

Manufacturing Cadetships are all about growing leaders from within our company and preparing them for operational leadership roles.  To be accepted for a cadetship you will need a relevant tertiary qualification and ideally a minimum of 1 year relevant practical experience in a manufacturing environment.

Competitive Manufacturing Programme

We offer team members in our manufacturing division the opportunity to gain NZQA qualifications through accredited training programmes.  Each year we are proud to see our team members achieve manufacturing qualifications ranging from NZQA Level 1 to Level 5.

We believe our people are the key to our success and offering these development opportunities allows us to continue to strengthen our manufacturing capabilities.

We offer opportunities for 4th year engineering students to undertake high level technical projects.  Engineering students who have successfully completed technical projects with us are further considered for graduate recruitment and often end up becoming a permanent member of our team!  The selection process commences annually in April.

The First Foundation Scholarship

Tru-Test Group is partnered with First Foundation to offer The First Foundation Scholarship.  First Foundation is a unique educational trust which helps provide young New Zealanders with the opportunity to undertake tertiary education.  The scholarship is awarded to a student from a decile one secondary school, and then together we offer financial assistance, paid work experience and a mentor to support the student through their journey.
